The first cars invented were electric and look where the car industry is now going, sometimes the old ways are the best ways. Before plastic, we used sustainable and stylish methods like glass bottles and fabric bags to contain groceries. Like the car industries revival of the superior electric powered vehicles, The Jar Co brings a return of the older yet superior way of grocery shopping.

I started The Jar Co because I was horrified with the waste produced by traditional grocery shopping and the clutter it created in my kitchen cupboards. I wanted a solution that reduced waste and brought order and elegance to my home whilst not being as time consuming as a refill shop is. By unifying the design of our product containers, we ensure nothing goes to waste while simplifying and beautifying your kitchen.

Founded in 2023 in New Alresford, we began with a small trial program. The feedback was overwhelmingly positive, and we've now expanded to deliver to anyone in New Alresford and it's nearby villages. Our service operates like the milkman, but we offer much more, delivering groceries in reusable, stylish jars and other reusable containers.
